Male Red-breasted Merganser Male Red-breasted Merganser- Mergus serrator Male Red-breasted Merganser- Mergus serrator, Subfamily Merginae. Long bodied and ride low in the water. Diving ducks with spikelike bills and saw edge mandibles. Mostly eat fish. Was spotted in the open water in Acton Lake in Heuston Woods State Park.
