Sexes similar and drab in winter. Really brighten up in the summer (as shown here!). A spectacular photo! A beautiful bird (small canary-like bird). In SW Ohio, may have Canadian birds in the winter and Florida birds in the summer. One of the great reasons to leave dandelions! Love thistle. Like small seeds. Love flower gardens in the summer. This spectacular male was found in the Gilmore Conservancy area in SW Ohio.
